Suburbia's role in shaping an inclusive community.

"Tresspassers?" raised questions that I have never thought of before. Who are the inhabitants of the suburbs? Why are suburbs such popular places to live? How does the seclusion of the suburbs create a dynamic of localized power amongst its inhabitants? While the suburbs have been prevalent in my life, I never thought of the importance of being able to create a personalized community there. The idea that, since they are rather isolated from urban environments, and because they likely attract people in similar professions or income brackets, suburbs become burgeoning societies where its inhabitants can create a niche comfortable for them or reminiscent of their ancestral countries is extremely interesting. But why do these societies have to be secluded? Why can't work be done to allow these societies to be created in the midst of established communities?
