Misunderstanding
Dear Patricia,
I don't feel that I know you anymore. It doesn't have to do with your newly assumed identity as black, but more so your embrace of it with open arms. You have time and time again chosen the difficult thing to do, regardless of what would cause you enjoyment. I've been as accepting as one can be about your identity, but I just don't see where you believe that staying in this miserable place and leaving behind a life of comfort would be better than our glorious future together. No one would ever know your secret but me, and I could not care less. I beg of you to reconsider this reckless decision.
Tom
