Dear Helga...

Dear Helga,
As I reach the end of reading about your sad life, my heart aches for you and the constant depression and misery you have experienced over the course of your lifetime.  On one hand, while I can understand your struggle to be accepted by neither the black or white communities, I also feel frustrated with you pessimistic outlook of those who help you.  I encourage you to take a deeper look at your past interactions with those who have given you a generous amount of support, and despite any negative feelings of ill will you may harbor, still remember that they allowed you to experience other things and provided a house and food for you to eat.  Additionally, your frustration with the black community of Harlem fascinated me, primarily when you discussed the hypocrisy of their actions.  I find this possibly the cause for the most concern.  Throughout history peoples claims to be changing the world in which they inhabit, have yielded great amounts of improvement, however this is something that can only be accomplished through not only desire but legitimate actions.  Anyways , just some thoughts.

Love,
A pondering listener
